This Week on "I Testify"...

Staying Together for Better or Worse

by Sherie Holder

They say love covers a multitude of sins, but there are moments when the greatest love is challenged to its core, especially when the sins are committed by those closest to you.

In those circumstances one can end up wondering what love, marriage and staying together are all about.

For Paul and Janelle Murrell, this is their story. Six years ago they met, fell in love and got married. Like most people, it was their intention to live happily ever after.

But what most people find out is that the road to happily ever after is strewn with bumps, potholes, craters, hindrances, roadblocks and blaring signs signalling you to detour and change direction. Very rarely is it ever smooth sailing.

Stay tuned for more this week on Operation Marriage Restore.

OMR -- MAKING WAVES IN THE SPIRIT -- Operation Marriage Restore took to the high seas on Saturday April 21 and it was all about "Making Waves on the M.V. Harbour Master".
As promised, the couples who were featured in the February Sunday Sun newspapers gave even more details on their stories and how Operation Marriage Restore was able to pull them from the pit of pain and disappointment in their marriages.
There were also prizes for many in attendance including the most improved couple, the most recently married, the longest married and couples expecting.
Apostles Bernhard & Destiny Cadogan also taught the married only audience on how to bring your partner (wife) to a climax. (You should have been there if you want to know lol).
While many were disappointed that the cruise, which left half an hour late, did not offer up the opportunity for dancing among the couples as advertised, many continue to laud the Apostles Cadogan for providing such a real and open forum where they can obtain practical guidance to issues affecting their marriages.
UPROOTING BAD FOUNDATIONS
Meanwhile, the unmarried, or rather the entire family, was not left out during OMR. While the cruise was a welcomed shift from the norm it was also a great way to punctuate the two previous nights of OMR, which were housed at the Sherbourne Conference Centre on April 19 and 20.
These first two nights dealt extensively with uprooting bad foundations, encouraging patrons to take that often undesirable trip down memory lane into their pasts to determine the root of the challenges they may now be facing in their adult relationships.
For example, "what kind of father did you have?", probed Apostle Bernhard Cadogan, who highlighted the importance of a father to be the priest and the vestige of good authority in the home.
Apostle Bernhard also touched on verbal, physical, emotional and sexual abuse as symptoms of bad foundations in persons who either give abuse or enjoy receiving it. "Yes, I put it to you that some women, especially, when you see them stay in a physically abusive relationship, they like it.", he said.
Apostle Destiny in building on the message brought prior by her husband, spoke extensively about the presence of demon spirits in our lives that cause us to behave contrary to biblical pattern. Things like witchcraft, Obeah, sexual sin, abuse, depravity, lies, hatred, un-forgiveness were all addressed from the perspective that many persons behave like this because they are demon possessed.
DEMONS?
Are they real, many may have been asking. The Apostle referred to the woman in the bible who, because of her persistence and undeniable belief in the power of the Son of God, her daughter was healed.
Using that as a platform she proceeded to emphasize the importance of understanding the spirit realm. "Even though we can't see it with our natural eye, you better believe it is real". She also gave guidance how to avoid being in possession of such "guests" as she called them. How? By being filled with the spirit of Christ, that way no other occupant can reside in you.
